I disagree with this edit. I grant that 'online RPG' is ambiguous, but nobody claimed that the two terms were identical. And the persistence of the world is just a product of the massively multiplayer-ness. I don't think it needs to be examined in detail.<br\> Personally, I would at most point out that there are other, non-MM games that could also qualify as 'online RPG's, and that the term is thus fuzzy. I think the comment was meant to be a stab at Graal anyway -- Evil 10:37, 22 Feb 2005 (CET)

Kai, are you saying that whoever's (dont feel like searching to see who made it originally) comment that online rpg is identical (the comment that some people just call it an online rpg, but let's face it, they have a point)? My edit is very accurate, one example (of the second type of "online rpg", where it just means one capable of going online) is baldur's gate, where you just do the singlke player mode with a few players. That is nothing like an MMORPG. As for the first one, there aren't any huge ones, but just sdearch for "online rpg" and you'll find a few singleplayer ones.<br\> Falco10291029

The article did not say that the terms 'MMORPG' and 'online RPG' were identical. It said that people will often use the latter instead of the former.<br\> And yes, I already acknowledged that there are non-MM online RPGs, but that doesn't change anything. All MMORPGs are online RPGs, so it's valid to refer to them as such.<br\> Kaimetsu

IT implied that they were the same ("and let's face it, they have a point"). true all MMORPGs are online games, but it doesnt work the other way around.<br\> Falco10291029

That was intended to be a jab at the verbosity and length of the acronym. The intended point was that MMORPG sounds stupid and is harder to say, which is why people opt for the latter. Sorry for any confusion caused. --GrowlZ 22:17, 23 Feb 2005 (CET)
